About Us

Altium Legal is an introduction service. We connect people moving home with solicitors and licensed conveyancers who do the legal work, and we stay alongside the case from the quote through to completion.

What we do

We work with a network of property specialist law firms, each with dedicated teams of property lawyers. When you come to us for a quote, we match you with a firm from that panel, instruct them on your behalf if you ask us to, and keep the communication moving until the transaction completes.

Our quotes are fixed and transparent, with no hidden extras. Conveyancing fees do not include disbursements such as local or environmental searches, telegraphic transfer fees or stamp duty; where those apply they are broken out separately as part of the quotation.

Our panel

Every firm we would instruct on your behalf is a solicitor regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, or a Licensed Conveyancer regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers. We actively manage the panel and only pass work to firms with the capacity to take it, which is how we keep service consistent rather than leaving it to chance.

Any solicitor or registered European lawyer we refer you to is an independent professional from whom you receive impartial and confidential advice, and you are always free to choose another. We comply with Chapter 9 of the SRA Handbook, "Fee Sharing and Referrals", and we have a formal referral agreement under it with every firm that quotes through us.

Working with introducers

Estate agents, mortgage brokers, IFAs and law firms use Altium Legal to give their clients access to fixed-fee conveyancing without taking on the admin. Partners create a quote in their own portal, refer the client, and we take it from there - including paying the referral fee automatically once the case completes.
